I never wanted to produce a show.

I never wanted to produce a show. ‘Tell me what to say and show me where to stand’ – that’s been as much responsibility as I’ve wanted for the last 25 years. Why am I doing it now?
-Because this play connects with people.
-Because I loved performing it (in creator Omar Khan’s 2025 production).
-Because we played to seven tiny houses and this story has more to give.

I’m producing as Truthful Tales and I’m excited to be able to prioritise the things that seem important. I’d love you to visit the About page and see what that means.

On 17 and 18 June ‘A Beginner’s Guide to Widowhood’ launches at Nottingham Arts Theatre, where the team have been incredibly supportive. I’d love to show this production off to people from all over the place, and I’m sending invitations for these performances across the Midlands. Ultimately I want to reach local audiences, really local audiences, helping them connect with their local venues and with each other.

The staging is minimal and intimate. Each performance will be followed by the opportunity to stay and chat with the performer (me) and each other. Tickets are priced low (£10) with the option to pay more; I’d also love to hear from those for whom £10 is too much.

All support on socials will be gratefully appreciated. Like most first-time producers I do not know how to market a play (i.e. sell tickets and book venues) and I want to do this production justice.
